Highlight of the Month: Navigating Family Dynamics During the Holidays

The holiday season brings people together, but it can also bring old patterns, expectations, and emotional tension to the surface. Many people feel heightened stress this time of year due to family roles, unresolved conflict, and increased emotional load.

Here are a few gentle reminders to support your emotional well-being:

You can set boundaries — space is healthy, and saying “no” is allowed.
Take breaks when you need them — a walk, deep breaths, or stepping outside can reset your nervous system.
Choose connection over perfection. Small moments of presence matter more than ideal outcomes.

You deserve peace, even during a busy season.

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Celebrating Our Graduating Interns

This month, we’re proud to celebrate two of our incredible interns, Cindy and Nathalia, as they continue growing in their academic and professional journeys. Their dedication, compassion, and commitment to community care have made such a meaningful impact at Grace.

Cindy Espinoza- Social Work Intern

Cindy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from New Mexico Highlands University and has now completed her Master of Social Work. With over six years of experience in healthcare and community support, she brings strong clinical insight, bilingual communication skills, and a deep commitment to culturally responsive, person-centered care.

We’re grateful for her professionalism, warmth, and the care she continues to bring to our community.

Nathalia Rodriguez- Associate Intern

Nathalia recently completed her degree at UNM, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish with a minor in Family and Child Studies. As a first-generation graduate, she brings passion, curiosity, and a strong foundation in community-focused mental health work. She plans to enter the counseling field and will continue working with us as she grows her clinical experience.

We’re honored to be part of her next steps and excited to support her continued development.

We’re incredibly proud of both Cindy and Nathalia and grateful for all they’ve contributed to Grace. Their dedication, cultural awareness, and heart for community care reflect the values we hold deeply. 💙

If you’ve been thinking about starting therapy or scheduling a follow-up, now is a good time to reach out.
A reminder for the new year: many insurance plans reset deductibles in January. Please check with your insurance provider if you’re unsure how this may affect your coverage. If you have concerns or questions, we encourage you to contact your insurer directly.
Holiday Closure:
Our office will be closed on December 25th and January 1st.
We will resume normal operations on the following business day.
